Frequently asked questions

Who is Gains Generator for?+

Anyone who wants to train consistently with the equipment in front of them — travel nurses, pilots, flight attendants, military, business travelers, regular gym-goers, CrossFitters, calisthenics and bodyweight athletes, hybrid athletes, powerlifters, and general fitness enthusiasts. If you train somewhere, we have a workout for it.

Is this good for travel nurses and frequent travelers?+

Yes. Hotel and assignment gyms vary wildly — set whatever's available (a couple dumbbells, a cable stack, or just bodyweight) and you'll get a complete session in seconds.

Does it work for pilots and flight attendants on layovers?+

Absolutely. Pick a 20–45 minute session and the generator builds something productive around hotel dumbbells, bands, or pure bodyweight.

Can military members use it on base or deployed?+

Yes. Use it for AFT-style conditioning, ruck-ready strength, or a barracks/base-gym 5x5. Bodyweight mode covers field conditions with no equipment.

Is it good for regular gym-goers, CrossFitters, and powerlifters?+

Yes. Pick full-gym for barbell, rack, cables and machines — run 5x5, hypertrophy, or accessory work. CrossFitters can mix barbell + kettlebell + bodyweight when the box is closed.

What about calisthenics and bodyweight-only training?+

Pick Bodyweight / Calisthenics as your equipment. You'll get push-ups, pull-ups, dips, pistol-squat progressions, hollow holds, plyo work — programmed full-body so you can train hard with zero gear.

Does it support hybrid athletes and race-style conditioning plans?+

Yes. The Hybrid Fitness Race Prep goal builds race-style conditioning plans — sled, run, carry, row, wall ball, and functional endurance workouts. Every block maps to a race-style station — SkiErg 1000m, sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, row 1000m, farmers carry, sandbag lunges, wall balls — plus 1km run intervals between stations. If you're missing the exact equipment (SkiErg, rower, sled), the closest in-pool movement is substituted so you still train the right pattern and energy system. I run on a track, trail, or treadmill — can I use that?+

Yes. Add Track / Trail / Road as equipment and the generator can pull in run intervals, tempo work, and Zone 2 sessions. Useful for AFT 2-mile prep, 1km race repeats, and hybrid athlete conditioning.

Can I use Gains Generator with only dumbbells?+

Yes. Select dumbbells as your equipment and every generated workout will use only dumbbell-compatible exercises.

Can I use Gains Generator with kettlebells?+

Absolutely. Kettlebell-only workouts are first-class — squats, presses, swings, deadlifts and carries.

Does Gains Generator support 5x5 workouts?+

Yes. The 5x5 Builder produces classic Workout A / Workout B sessions and automatically substitutes when you don't have a barbell.

Is this good for beginners?+

Yes. Pick beginner experience and the generator dials back volume, picks accessible exercises, and adds form cues.

Can I save my workouts?+

Free accounts save 1 workout. Pro accounts save unlimited and unlock workout history.

How much does it cost?+

Free to try. Pro is $3/month or $30/year for unlimited workouts and the full exercise library.

Is this a mobile app?+

It's a responsive web app that works great on phones. You can add it to your home screen for an app-like experience — useful when you're traveling and don't want another download.

Can I use it on my phone?+

Yes. The whole app is mobile-first with bottom navigation and big tap targets for in-gym use.
